L'Amour Fou

I watched the YSL documentary L'Amour Fou last night. So sweet and so sad. The love between them, their incredible art collection, their beautiful houses and, most importantly, the amazing pieces of art that YSL created in his career in fashion. A visionary, a true artist. Even in his struggle. I loved that he was such an intellectual as well. The whole idea that fashion is superficial has never sat well with me. YSL named every room in his country home after a Proust character. And his genius and creativity can be seen in the clothes that he created. He had the ability of  translating his times into designs while also anticipating the future. Such an inspiration.

So, I'm dedicating this to Yves:

“The only true voyage, the only bath in the Fountain of Youth, would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to see the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, to see the hundred universes that each of them sees, that each of them is; and this we do [with great artists]; with artists like these we do really fly from star to star." (Marcel Proust)

Thank you for allowing me to fly from star to star.

P.S. Who inspires you?
P.P.S. And let's call him Yves Saint Laurent. That sounds so much better than YSL!!!!!
