MY 2 CENTS - THE OSCARS FASHION REVIEW

OK, so I have to write something about Angelina Jolie's (in)famous leg. Who would've known that by showing some leg one would set this whole media circus in motion. It's kind of amazing. It makes me think that the Oscars must have been so uneventful for one pose to take center stage. As you know, I don't watch TV (yeah right), so I didn't throw an Oscar viewing party with pink champagne and macaroons. But I did check the fashion. Of course, it's the Oscars. So on Sunday night, I checked people.com and played who wore what. What designer did Rooney Mara wear? What body part did Angelina show? Was Michelle Williams in vintage? What color was Tina Fey's gown? And they were all so predictable. Glamor, fun and edge were sadly missing from the red carpet.
Who did I like the most? Hmm, that's a tough one. I think Gwyneth Paltrow looked good, but I'm not sure the credit should go to the dress... or the cape. Octavia Spencer was one of the best dressed and Michelle Williams looked adorable, as always.
The one dress that I think took the cake wasn't on the red carpet, but at the Vanity Fair Oscar party: Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein. Yes, Diane is one of my contemporary style icons and she can do no wrong in my eyes. Her dress was just amazing. I loved the sleek line, the shade of red and the lace bralette. Perfection.
As for Angelina's leg, what can I say that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing, so I'll just let it (the leg) be.

P.S.: Who is on your best dressed list?

  1. I agree, it was pretty uninspiring. I liked J-Lo, Milla J, and Cameron D. And I liked the shape of Diane Kruger's dress. The bra part in the middle was a little too bra like for me :-)
